Did you know that female entrepreneurship has grown more than 114% in the last 10 years, and women owned businesses are consistently outlasting male owned?
As a matter of fact women owned businesses are growing at double the rate of men, and at the end of 2017 totaled over 11.6 million companies generating 1.7 trillion dollars worth of revenue. And the numbers are growing by leaps and bounds with women representing 40% of new entrepreneurs!
There has never been a better time in our history to be a women entrepreneur than right now. The barrier to entry is low, resources plentiful and Information easily accessible. There is no shortage of talented, strong, inspired women with creative ideas who want to build real businesses. The challenge is getting them to last and turn a profit.
Small business is the heart and soul of our country, representing 99.9% of total businesses, yet in the last 50 years, the needle on the failure rate has not moved. More than 20% of new small businesses won’t survive the first year, 50% won’t make the 5 year mark and 70% won’t live to celebrate 10 years. These numbers are staggering, especially in the technological age in which we live.
With the rate of women owned businesses on the rise, it’s time to swing the pendulum from 70% failing to 70% surviving, thriving, and making the difference they were created to make.
The question is, HOW?
The business landscape has changed dramatically, Shifts in technology & innovation have provided new resources and opportunities with countless channels for exposure. That means how we do business and build successful brands has shifted as well. This has opened the door for Women to break through old beliefs, and outdated processes. Never before have so many women gone so far and achieved so much. The constant influx of change means opportunities are available anywhere at any time, the sky is the limit.
When the most successful entrepreneurs were asked what the single biggest contributor to their success was, the majority could not point to one single thing, but instead said it was a combination of factors coming together.
I agree completely, and after 30 years of personal experience, and working with new entrepreneurs today, I have found that the formula comes from the right balance of inspiration, information and collaboration.
This is the core foundation of WIIE .
The belief that successful Entrepreneurship for
Women
comes from the right balance of
Information
continuous knowledge & learning to match their passion & drive
Inspiration
to have and to be through support of & with one another
Empowerment
having the confidence & conviction to offer value & take action
WIIE entrepreneurs believe that the recipe for success is:
Every person has the power to make the transformation they truly want. It comes from surrounding yourself with the right people who are going to help you bring it out.
Leaders who have walked the road before you and are willing to take you by the hand as a guide.
Counterparts who are alongside you, going through the shifts at the same time and experiencing what it’s like in the same moment as you.
New entrepreneurs behind you who are just starting out and need your help, your insight, your support.
No matter where you are on the path, you need help and can be a help. That is the reason why collaboration is so vital. It’s power comes from what happens when you embrace it and understand how the universe works. There are many schools of theory and thought on this, and while they may differ in some ways, the core principle is the same. The universe is made up of energy, we are made up of energy, and like energy attracts. What we put out affects what we get back.
Collaborations are happening every single day in many ways. The shift to a customer centric model means a focus on fulfilling their hopes, dreams and aspirations. Being truly empathetic to their needs and becoming a trusted authority that helps them achieve their goals. Collaboration makes that happen and in the process, allows for farther reach, faster growth and a rise above all the noise. Here is collaboration at work:
Affiliates recommending one another in the hopes of offering trusted solutions to the problems of their loyal community.
Influencers recommending products and services they use and believe in.
Private Facebook groups offering advice, support and opportunities.
WIIE entrepreneurs are women who:
Believe in the benefit of community over competition, and find ways to collaborate with other businesses and service providers to increase their exposure, provide value and build trust.
Know that the best investment for their business is an investment in themselves. They stay current through continual learning from educators, mentors, and industry leaders for personal development, which they understandis necessary and essential for growth.
Embrace the notion that there is strength in numbers, and by leading, standing beside, or being a guide to one another, they make a bigger impact for the greater good.
Support instead of suppress one another’s hopes and dreams, providing clarity when possible and confidence when needed.
WE work together.
